Greg

A Philadelphia native, Greg Johnson is a photographer and director with a deep passion for mood and aesthetics. A self-taught artist, he has spent over a decade mastering light, composition, and the emotional resonance of imagery. Working with both digital and film, he embraces the versatility of modern technology while preserving the artistry of analog photography.

Photography has been an integral part of his life, evolving through its own ebbs and flows. In November 2023, feeling burnt out and disconnected, Greg made the difficult decision to step away from his craft. However, in January 2025, something shifted, his passion reignited, and he fell back in love with the art form.

This time, his approach is different, intentional and purposeful. He is no longer just taking pictures; he is creating images that evoke emotion. Greg has rediscovered the beauty of the process, the deliberate framing of a shot, the quiet ritual of developing film, and the anticipation of scanning each negative.

Now, he is dedicating this chapter of his career to a deeply personal project, his first solo photography exhibition, set for spring 2026. While he continues to work on a variety of projects, he is also creating a collection of images that will contribute to this exhibition, each one capturing emotion and meaning, centered around the themes he holds dear.

Beyond his personal work, Greg is expanding his creative vision through his production company, Check the Layers, where he explores storytelling in deeper, more layered ways. He is also laying the foundation for Cre8tive Collective, a movement dedicated to empowering artists, mentoring youth, and giving back to the community through art. Through this initiative, he aims to create spaces where creativity thrives and meaningful connections are forged.

Through his lens, Greg explores connection, resilience, and the human experience. His goal is not just to document the world as it is but to craft photographs that stir something within the viewer. His mission is clear: to create positive change through his art while bridging the gap between culture and commerce.

Build, create, and leave something timeless.
